ABOUT

Serafin Castro

Serafin Castro was born in Villa Clara, Cuba. He first began his ballet training at the age of eight. Two years later, he continued his studies at the Vocational School of Art of Villa Clara “Olga Alonso” and by the time he was fifteen years old, Yasser had earned a prestigious scholarship to join the Cuban National Ballet School where he graduated with honours in 2008. In addition to his studies at this School, Yasser captured first prize in the International Ballet Festival of Havana in 2006 and was subsequently awarded a gold medal in 2007.

After graduation, Yasser joined the Cuban National Ballet as Corps de Ballet. His work as a performer over the next five years ultimately culminated in him being promoted to Soloist in 2013. In 2015, he joined the Ballet of Monterrey in Mexico as Principal Dancer. Yasser has been invited to participate in the Monterrey International Ballet Gala (“MTYBIG”) in 2015 and again in 2016. Mr. Castro then joined Ballet Arizona in 2018.
